From 1st to 5th of May the Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) was held at Seattle (WA), USA. ARVO is the largest gathering of eye and vision researchers in the world, attracting over 11,000 attendees from more than 75 countries around the world. They came together to explore cutting-edge science, to collaborate with their peers and for connections between their work and the people who will ultimately benefit from it. This year the theme of the Annual Meeting was ‘Research: a vision of hope’.
The research team of the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Dr. D. Robert Iskander, Dra. Dorota Szczesna-Iskander, ESR5. Maryam Mousavi and ESR3 Clara Llorens-Quintana) attended this international event where they presented their latest work ‘Assessing the morphology of high speed videokeratoscopy recordings for the evaluation of tear film surface quality in contact lens wear’.
During these days they had the unique opportunity to meet researches from all around the world working in the field to discuss their work and also to share with the scientific community.
The week was full of different events with a great agenda of poster, paper sessions, workshops, symposiums, etc. The organization also prepared some social events for all of the attendees, such as a night at the EMP museum and a karaoke night at the Hard Rock Cafe.
