On 19th May 2017 Izabela Garaszczuk (ESR 1) was an invited speaker to give a welcoming lecture at the CooperVsion’s Centre of Innovation in Budapest for the European optometry students taking part in the Future Ocular Research Creativity Event (FORCE).
Izabela was presenting pros and cons of working in the academia, sharing her last years’ experience with the audience comprising of master students and researchers in vision sciences. She put a strong emphasis on the interdisciplinary cooperation as a necessary part of the future research advancements.
ESR 1 was presenting her work in the EDEN project and all the ESRs taking part in it and tried to motivate optometry students to pursue their goals and become scientists of the future.
The event was connected with the tour around the facility, learning about contact lens manufacturing, listening to very interesting lectures given by the participants and to meet with researchers and optometry students from all around Europe.
