EDEN Fellows attend to the second meeting of the MCAA Polish Chapter

On 11th of September the EDEN fellows Maryam Mousavi and Clara Llorens Quintana attended the second meeting of the Marie-Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) polish chapter that was held in Gdansk (Poland) at the Gdansk University of Technology. The MCAA polish chapter was created one year ago and Clara is one of the founding members. During its first year the chapter managed to organize and participate in different activities: collaborations with the National and Regional Contact Points (KPK), attendance to the Sopot Day of Science under the Baltic Science Festival or organized member hang-outs in Warsaw, Cracow and Gdansk. The second polish chapter meeting was run by the chair of the Chapter Maria Gorna who discussed the planned activities for the next year and elected Rohan Soman and Michal Karpinski as the chair vice-chair of the next chapter.

The polish chapter together with the Bridging Science and Business group organized a two day lecture series where 10 speakers from Poland and abroad were invited to talk about different topics as IP protection, design thinking or how to commercialize the scientific work.

During these two days Maryam and Clara had the opportunity to learn about the possibilities of business in science, meet new Marie-Curie fellows in Poland, and learn about other projects founded by the EC. There was a chapter dinner were all members had the opportunity to talk and network. This was also a good opportunity to discover the city of Gdansk in the north of Europe.
